I Didn’t Even Recognize Him
Over the weekend a good friend of my dad's came to visit him.
They ended up taking a picture together that was posted on Facebook. While browsing thru Facebook Sunday I saw my dad's friend in a photo next to another guy and I just kept scrolling. It is also very common for me to hop on Facebook and scroll quickly and then get off.
Well, as I scrolled right past the picture of my dad and his friend but at this point I didn't recognize my dad in the picture as I was scrolling quite quickly. Something said, go back to that pic and I did.
It was a very weird moment for me to be in the awareness of just passing a photo that I didn't quickly recognize my dad. He has lost quite a bit of weight since the cancer revved up.
I found myself having flash backs of my dad even just last Summer coming over to the house I just bought and was taking down a small tree for me and pruning some of my other tree's.
I am so grateful for those moments.
I found myself starring at the picture and noticing his hands, his eye's, his humanness. I see my dad quite often and I am so grateful he is still here fighting in his way. Which is how he has done everything;) Our family often says this about my dad jokingly "It's Lloyd's way or the highway."
But when I sit and just revel in his humanness instead of his sickness, I see so much beauty and appreciation. And there is nothing that needs to be done in these moments, simply just Being is enough.
Has our relationship been perfect? No way. But love isn't perfect, love just simply is just that love.
Loving someone, is I believe seeing into the soul of someone, touching into all of our innate desire to simply want someone to see us and to love us just as we are.
I share in my Yoga Classes to "See Thru the Eyes of Love" as you move thru your day.
Can you do this as you move not only your day but this week?
And also Be loving and kind towards yourself.
People want to see the real you, not what you think you need to be in this world.
I love you,
I See you,
I Hear you,
