Top 4 Tips For Winter Skin Care (Face & Body)
Winter is still a necessary time to be in check with your skin. Depending on where you live, winter weather usually gets cooler and dryer. Inside our homes and offices we turn on heat (cause it’s kinda necessary to stay warm…hahaha) but it also dries out our skin. Maybe a humidifier may be in your budget, I know I recently acquired one for my office and it’s amazing!
So here are my Top 4 Tips For Winter Skin Care:
1) MOISTURIZE! MOISTURIZE! MOISTURIZE!
Find a moisturizer that has one or more of these ingredients: Hyaluronic Acid, Alpha-Hydroxy Acids, Vit. E, Primrose Oil just to start. These ingredients help lock in the moisture to your skin.
My GloTherapeutics Recommendation: SPF 40 Facial Moisturizer, Oil Free Moisturizer, Vita E Essential Cream, Moisture Rich Cream, and Pure Hydration.
2) Sunscreen! It’s Still A Must!
Winter sun combined with snow glare can still damage your skin. Again Broad Spectrum Sunscreen is ideal.
My GloTherapeutics Recommendation:SPF 40 Facial Moisturizer, Oil Free SPF 40 Sunscreen.
3) Take Care of Your Hands
Constantly washing your hands to combat against germs is great but along with that and winter dry weather, our hands can become cracked and itchy. Carry a nice moisturizer (Hempz Lotion) along with you at all times.
I also provide $10 Paraffin Hand Dips to any of my treatments, which really assists in locking in the moisture, also helping with healing. Great for arthritis!
4) Exfoliate Your Body Thru Dry Brushing
Go to your local Dollar Store and pick up one of those long handled brushes. Before getting into the shower start brushing in a circular motion at your ankles towards your heart. This not only removes dead skin, reduces cellulite, increase circulation, and also helps stimulate the lymphatic system to help release toxins in the body and keep your immune system up.
**Also consistent facials by your Esthetician once a month is also recommended to help with the continuous changes in weather and health of the skin.
**Also keep in mind that what we put into our bodies such as foods, choice of drink and smoking all play a factor in our skins over all health. Make sure that you are eating lots of fruits and vegetables and drink lots of water.
Have an amazing rest of your day and I hope this helps prepare You and Your skin for an amazing winter!
Live your best life!
