For women specifically, understanding this concept can help us take control of our health and wellbeing. The Impact of Stress on Your Health
Stress has a major impact on your health, both physical and mental. When we experience stress, hormones like cortisol are released into our bodies as part of the “fight or flight” response. In short bursts, cortisol is beneficial; it gives us energy when we need it most (for example during an emergency situation). However, if stress levels remain elevated over time, cortisol levels can cause serious damage to our bodies such as suppressed immune systems, digestive problems, and heart disease. So it’s essential that women learn ways to manage stress in order to protect their overall wellbeing.
How Yoga Can Help
One way to reduce stress levels is through yoga – a practice that combines physical poses with meditation techniques to promote relaxation and relieve tension. Not only does yoga help reduce stress levels but regular practice has been linked with improved sleep quality, increased muscle strength, better moods, and improved joint mobility. Plus there is evidence to show that practicing yoga can also improve self-esteem which further helps us cope with stressors in our everyday lives.

Women can benefit greatly from learning this skill as it will allow them to be more mindful of their thoughts throughout the day which will ultimately lead them towards a more balanced lifestyle overall.
