Get er Done
Good Monday Morning:)
I want to share a funny moment with my dad that I had over the weekend.
One of the things I really appreciate and love about my dad is his sarcasm and his dry humor. That is something that is instilled in my bones and it's not everyone's cup of tea but I appreciate it.
So my mom and I had been searching on the Amazon about a week ago to find a nice dress shirt for my dad to wear to my wedding. We found this really nice black one that had plaid white and black cuffs. In my mom's words it looked "sharp";)
It really did, I was really excited about it and how nice he would like in it. But my dad doesn't like any type of flair, so to have the plaid cuffs, we were taking a gamble. He did like the black shirt idea regardless before we ordered.
Then my mom found a black hat that said "Father of the Bride" because my dad is a hat wearer. He has worn the same color and type of hat FOREVER;) The man knows what he likes and doesn't stray from it, really ever! Ha!
So she ordered the hat too.
I went over last Friday and massaged my dad's neck and back and we tried the shirt on him. It fit so nice. My mom and I think were both surprised he didn't say anything about his little bit of flair on his cuffs;)
Then we got out the hat. We put it on and took a picture.
He then said, "Well, I was going to wear my Get 'er Done hat, what am I going to do with this one?"
We all had a good laugh, as that sass is still alive in him as he is still doing his best each day to get up and find some movement and eat when there really is no appetite.
Tears of happiness are running down my face as I share this with you.
Yes, it's all getting a little more difficult to deal with but I am so freakin grateful for these moments.
This is why I share repeatedly to come back to the present moment with it all. We get caught up in the past, the future but reality is right here in this moment. And how are you taking it in, these moments?
Simply appreciate this moment is what it's about
So much love to you,
Theresa Falvey
