A Crisis is a Decision Time

“All these bad things are happening, I must be doing something wrong that I keep being punished in my life, that things don’t seem to be working out well.”

I have heard this from clients many times…..I have experienced this way of being myself.

It can feel like you are in the trenches and nothing you do is good enough, you will never be deserving of God’s love and goodness.

You may be wondering why others are experiencing life differently than you are, things “seem” to be going “well” for others and not you.

You may be seeing or experiencing things going “wrong” in your life and that you just can’t catch a break.

I get it. I too have experienced this way of being.

Many times this constant focus of what is going “wrong”, perceiving that things/life to not be working out for you can lead to a “Crisis” state of being.

A sort of “Mayday”. The dictionary says that Mayday means: An internationally recognized distress signal used to indicate imminent danger or emergency situation.

I don’t want to dismiss what you might be experiencing……I want to offer you another way to Be with this.

Life doesn’t have to be an “emergency”.

Let’s get curious for a minute.

What if your focus and attention is actually where the issue lies.

What if the “Crisis Time” is a Decision Time?

You get to make a different choice of how you are Being with what is and your life.

A question to ask could be: Do I trust God? Or am I going into my agenda?

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

This verse speaks directly to the tension between trusting God versus operating from your own agenda. It complements the reflection on shifting focus, choosing differently in the moment of “crisis,” and Being present with faith instead of control.

Being Present with Faith.

When you shift how you Be with something, everything shifts and you are able to lean into the knowing that God has you.

And what if the thing you begin to say is “I can’t wait to see what God has in store for me because I am moving through this.” And take a posture of Excitement!

God is always pursuing a relationship with you and could it be as well during these times, that is when He is pursuing the relationship with you even more…..

Be Present with your Faith.

I love you,

God loves you.

Get co-creating with Him and watch it all unfold, even grander than your human mind could comprehend.
