Day 3 Coaches are Midwives

Our workshop leader Bob said something that stuck with me: “Coaches are midwives.” We help bring forth something sacred—not just goals, but deeper versions of ourselves, aligned with God.

That morning, I kept my promise to move my body. Up at 6am, gym time, breakfast, prayer: “I’m open to receiving miracles today.”
Miracle 1: I moved.
Miracle 2: My oatmeal + banana brought back childhood joy.
Miracle 3: Sunshine in Georgia (while Wisconsin stayed cold and gray).
Miracle 4: Bob confirmed I was chosen for the hot seat coaching later that day.

The morning was full—coaching in triads, deep reflection. One moment hit hard. I realized I’d unconsciously created an image of God based on my Dad—which kept me feeling undeserving of full love and grace. The truth? God doesn’t love conditionally. The tears came—for me and my coach. I was seen and reminded: You are God’s beloved. All of His love is for you.

After lunch, it was time for my “hot seat” coaching. My question?
“As a Life Coach, I believe suffering is optional. But as a woman of faith, Scripture talks often about suffering. How do I hold both?”

Bob went deeper. “Is this really about your clients? Or is it about you?”
Sweaty palms, ok EVERYTHING was sweating at this point, full vulnerability. And then another layer peeled back—I still believed, in some hidden part of me, that I had to earn God’s love. That I wasn’t fully worthy of joy, peace, or the life I was building.

Bob invited me to pray—right there—to release that belief and allow in God’s fullness. I said yes. The room filled with sniffles and love. That moment? Pure freedom.

“There is no bondage greater than God can’t set free.”
I lived that truth. I left that room changed. I can feel it now even as I type this—chills, joy, peace.

The day ended with dinner and soul-nourishing conversation with my mastermind friend who had messaged me out of the blue the day before. We laughed, got real, and dreamed together.

What. A. Day.
From start to finish—miracle after miracle.
God is always moving. Always loving. Always near.

How do you like the new name: Theresa Falvey-Hunt, Spiritual Midwife?
