Smile For No Good Reason
I have this amazing little book that I received from a very dear during the pandemic called Smile For No Good Reason. I read from it a lot during my yoga classes, everyone enjoys the passages from it.
If you don't know already, my passion is to illuminate the way to Being your best, living your best life is always about coming back to simple practices. Yes, sometimes the practice has some deep components to it but it's attainable to us all.
Smiling is one of those practices that can shift everything about your Being in seconds. Just by turning the corners of your mouth upwards you might notice your shoulders soften, you take a deep breath or sigh with contentment, a sense of joy might sneak up and wash over you. But did you know it actually effects the brain when you crack a smile?
When you smile, your brain releases tiny molecules called neuropeptides to help fight off stress. Then other neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin and endorphins come into play too. The endorphins act as a mild pain reliever, whereas the serotonin is an antidepressant.
One study even suggests that smiling can help us recover faster from stress and reduce our heart rate. In face, it might even be worth your while to fake a smile and see where it gets you!
So my challenge to you today, is get your smile on.
Smile for no good reason or for the simple fact that we CAN.
Keep it simple, small intentional action steps each day.
Remembering you get to choose how you BE in every moment of each day.
How do you choose to BE today?
I AM.....
Write it down on a sticky note and keep reading it, breathing it, being it now.
No need to wait, you have everything within you now to BE that which you desire. Be it now.
all my love & support,
Theresa
