Why Salute the Sun?
Let’s start with what a Sun Salutation is?
The words “Surya Namaskar” are sanskrit for “Sun Greeting” or “Sun Salute”. The sun is the source of all life and energy. So when doing Sun Salutations you are gathering all that energy from the sun and cultivating it into your body.
I would recommend doing anywhere between 5-15 rounds of the Sun Salutations and there honestly is no better way to start your day than by “Greeting the Sun” (on an empty stomach).
One of the biggest benefits of these salutations is INCREASING IMMUNITY but here are some of the other positive gains :
*Strengthens the Body
*Helps Relax the Mind
*Helps Cope w/Insomnia
*Improves Flexibility
*Improves Posture
*Helps Burn Excess Fat
*Improves Muscle Tone
*Helps Build Mental Focus
*Improves Blood Circulation
*Improves Functions of Organs
I found a really great template for you to follow to find your Sun Salutation practice and I love that the marketing was geared towards Teachers because isn’t it divine timing for not only Teachers as everyone is gearing up for being back in school and everyone else as we are still moving through interesting times in the world as well?!

As always do your best and let the rest go, meet yourself where you are at, practice and have fun! Don’t take it too seriously. Just for the simple fact that you are choosing to move your body and breathing you are WINNING my friend!
And feel free to reach out if you have any questions along the way and get out there and greet the day!
And I personally invite you to come join us for a fantastic yoga experience outdoors behind the Baymont Inn Manitowoc-Lakefront. You can't beat the view of Lake Michigan.
